Arthur Russell was an interesting dude, bringing in a new form of avant-disco in the late 70s. The first two tracks on this playlist are from Arthur – the first from his album World of Echo and the second is a dance tune from a record made posthumously called Calling out of Context. I play some new stuff from Youth Lagoon, Soldiers of Fortune and Paul De Jong and some old stuff from Dan Deacon. We end with 90s band, Red House Painters.
