Music and Movies: Indie Memphis Film Festival Edition

Hi and thanks for tuning into Bubblegum Trash on WEVL 89.9 FM.

This day marks the beginning of the Indie Memphis Film Festival where movies from all over the nation and “hometowner” movies alike come together in one full week of film fun.

In spirit of this fest I am playing music from Gregg Araki films, Kaboom, Splendor, Lost in Translation, The Doom Generation, and Nowhere. Many of his movies are influenced by the shoegaze and British indie pop with Nowhere named for the Ride album and his film The Living End named after the Jesus and Mary Chain song. I enjoy these soundtracks and I hope you enjoy this show!
